Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
September 15, 2006
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday,
September 15, 2006, in the Finance Department conference room, 102 East Front Street,
Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Emory led a discussion of the following items:
- The regular Board meeting Monday evening will be recessed to reconvene on
Wednesday, September 20, at 9:00 a.m. in the Administration Office conference room
to discuss and consider agreements to provide water and wastewater service to Fort
Bragg.
- Letter from Dr. Garrett, Central Carolina Community College, regarding a proposal
for additional funding to complete the West Harnett Center building project.
- Update on renovation of the Commissioners Meeting Room.
- Supplements to Volunteer Fire Departments that house County Emergency Medical
Service units.
- Mr. Emory, Vanessa Young, finance officer, and Board of Education staff members
met with Janice Burke, financial consultant, regarding funding sources to begin
prioritizing needs for new school facilities.
There being no further business, the work session adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
