Minutes of Work Session
July 19, 2010
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in work session on Monday,July 19,2010, in
the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Administrative Building, 102 East Front Street,
Lillington,North Carolina.
Members present: Timothy B. McNeill, Chairman
Beatrice B. Hill,Vice-Chairman
Dan B. Andrews, Commissioner
Gary House, Commissioner
Member absent: Jim Burgin, Commissioner
Staff present: Scott Sauer, County Manager
Tony Wilder, Deputy County Manager
Dwight W. Snow, County Attorney
Sylvia Blinson, Finance Officer
Margaret Regina Wheeler, Clerk
Chairman McNeill called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm and led the pledge of allegiance and
invocation.
The following agenda was before the Board:
1. Workforce Development: a) Budget Amendment
b) Contract Modifications
c) Additional Grant Money
2. Local Option Sales Tax—November ballot
3. Library Services District—Report
4. USDA—Good Hope MOU
5. USDA—Schools—Architect& Schedule for public hearing and loan document
presentation
6. County Manager: (a) Agenda review
(b) Upcoming calendar updates and proposed revisions
(c) various project updates
7. Closed Session-Personnel
Commissioner House moved that the Board go into closed session to discuss certain personnel
matters. This motion is made pursuant to N.C. General Statute Section 143-318.11(a)(6).
Commissioner Andrews seconded the motion that passed 4—0.
Vice Chairman Hill moved that the Board come out of closed session. Commissioner Andrews
seconded the motion that passed 4—0; \lie geti g was adjourned.
