Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
October 3, 2008
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, October
3, 2008 in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102
East Front Street, Lillington,North Carolina.

Staff present: Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Jennifer Slusser, Staff Attorney
Guest: Jim Burgin
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
Chairman Byrd reviewed the proposed agenda for the October 20th Board of
Commissioners meeting.
Mr. Wilder stated that the discussion of bids and consideration of contract award for
Erwin Wastewater Improvements Project is on the October 3rd agenda. The wastewater
collection system in Erwin has had excessive sanitary sewer overflows for many years.
This project should alleviate many of the problems within the collection system. The
S project will be funded by a High Unit Cost Grant from NCDENR in the amount of
$2,000,000 .
Mr. Wilder noted that Grace Chapel Church has requested that landfill fees be waived for
debris from lot clean-up.
There being no further business, the work session, October 3, 2008 adjourned at 12:30
p.m
