Mrs. Faircloth,
Thank you for submitting the plans for the new assembly line building. The plans have
been carefully reviewed by a qualified code enforcement official to examine for
compliance with the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code and all other fire protection
regulatory documents. There are some items that were found during the plan review
process that need to be addressed before a final inspection of the new facility can be
given. These items are outlined and described below.
Plan Review Notes
• 906.1 Fire Extinguishers
o Minimum of (1) 2A10:BC fire extinguisher shall be installed per 75'
distance of travel.
o All Fire extinguisher shall be properly mounted and tagged by a fire
extinguisher company.
• 2604.2.6 Fire Extinguisher
o A minimum of one portable fire extinguisher complying with Section 906 and
with a minimum 2-A:20-B:C rating shall be readily accessible within 30 feet
(9144 mm)of the location where hot work is performed.

• 2603.6 Signage
o Visible hazard identification signs shall be provided where required by
Chapter 27. Where the hot work area is accessible to persons other than
the operator of the hot work equipment,conspicuous signs shall be
posted to warn others before they enter the hot work area. Such signs
shall display the following warning:
CAUTION
HOT WORK IN PROGRESS
STAY CLEAR.
o 506.1 Knox Box
o Provide entry key to be placed in the complex Knox box previously
installed at the main building.
