Re: Child care center application
The plans and specifications for the above referenced facility have been reviewed and approved with the following provisions:
Slash pad/pool plans, as previously discussed, have NOT been approved, are considered separate from the building plan, and must be submitted to our Pool Plan Review Department before
construction begins.
Infant bottles must be labeled by the parent/guardian with the child’s name and date at the child’s home.
Diaper changing signs must be posted at designated areas convenient for staff to view.
Hot water at hand sink accessible to children must be 80-110F; in the kitchen sink, 120F or greater.
Thermometers that are capable of measuring 0-220F must be available for monitoring food temperatures. Refrigerators must have ambient air thermometers.
A test kit is required for testing the strengths of the sanitizing solutions and for the disinfecting solution.
The review of this facility was made using 15 A NCAC 18A .2800 “Rules Governing the Sanitation of Child Care Centers.” This review does not cover any other aspects of construction regulated
by other jurisdictions.
