As authorized. McClancy Engineering. PC performed an evaluation at the above site on
December 1. 2017 The site investigation was performed and tnis report written by Mr John
McClancy, P.E.. president of McClancy Engineering.
As we understand it. our assign-rent was to evaluate the installation of the exterior wail
insulation that had not been subjected to the required inspection by the local code official
having jurisdiction It was reported the interior drywall panels intended for the adjacent
property had been mistakenly installed in the subject property before the insu,ation
inspection was conducted
As requested. our services are of limited scope, involving only these issues Although we
may note other conditions that come to our attention, we have not performed an in-depth
inspection or investigation of any other aspects of the construction.
The subject property was a single family residence under construction on a semi-rural
building :or in Angier, Harnett County. North Carolina. The building was dried in. with the
interior drywall installed and partially finished. Interior trim and finish details had hot been
installed Ceiling and floor insulation had not been installed
Evaluation of the exterior wall insulation was accomplished by the combination of visual
inspection of the various wati penetrations (at winnows, doors, outlet boxes etc and
surveying the walls with a Seek Thermal model 1E0010M infrared camera
• Based on the available evidence, I conclude that the exterior wails at the subject
residence were properly insulated as required by the 2012 NC Residential Building
Code
