Thank you for your timely review! We will revise and email to all. The
reader board are individual black letters on a white reader board that
employees can change to advertise daily specials. The sign will be
perpendicular to the road. The "reader board to Road" means the reader
board will be on the road side if the sign as opposed to the Site side.
All BK Logos on the building are 5' in diameter. We will provide more
dimensions on the "Home of the Whopper".

17-50042208 – Ground sign and directory signage = not approved
as presented
1. Only one (1) ground style sign allowed on this property
based on the ‘Single Tenant’ classification under UDO Article VII,
Section 10.9. Choose either the “Alternative East Monument Sign” or
“West Monument Sign”
2. “Alternative East Monument Sign” as currently proposed
is larger than the 150 sq. ft. allowable. Please revise the drawings to
depict a sign that meets the 150 sq. ft. maximum size limit. Based on
the ordinance we have to consider the entire structure as part of the
signage square footage calculation.
3. Please note on the site plan how far any proposed
ground/monument style sign will be located from the public right-of-way.
4. What is meant by “Reader Board to Road” note on the
plans (will this sign face the road)? Is this an electronic message
board?
5. The proposed directory signs on Sheet Number 1 of 1 for
Burger King, Verizon, and Murphy Express meet the standards of the
ordinance and is fine as presented.

1. Do all circular BK logos have 60” diameters?
2. What are the dimensions associated with “Home of the
Whopper” signage?
Please address any of these comments via e-mail or revise any
portions of the drawings that do not meet the standards of the ordinance
and resubmit.

Donna,
We would like to make our official Signage submittal for Burger
King. We are proposing two (2) on-site monument signs; wall signage on
three (3) sides of the building; and several on-site directional signs.
Attached are the Commercial Land Use Application Drawings C-1, C-3 and
A-2 that shows all of these on-site signs. Please note we have included
a signage summary on the Site Data Table on C-3.
We would also like to propose two (2) off-premises Directory
Signs for Burger King, Murphy’s Oil and Verizon since all of them do not
have direct access to the highway. I have attached this Plan as well.
My questions are how many hard copies of these Plans do you
need; what is your mailing address; is there a review or permit fee; and
what is your timing for review and approval?

missed anything.

Good morning. I have reviewed the document you sent to Jay Sikes
that included signage information. In order to begin the signage
permitting process we need the following items:
* Commercial Land Use Application – this serves as the
sign permit application
* Details of all signage proposed to be installed on this
site.
* Any signage proposed to be lighted will require an
electrical trade permit
I was a bit confused by the attached site plan you sent to Jay
because it referenced several different signs on the site plan,
including two monument style signs, and multiple wall signs. Each
proposed sign should be identified as to where it will be located on the
building/site.
Basically, for this type of business (Single Tenant Commercial)
you will be allowed the following signage:
* One ground sign per street frontage on a public street
* Max 15 ft height; Max 150 square feet; Must be
setback at least 10 feet from public right of way
* A maximum of three walls with signage (and only one
individual sign on each allowable wall); 1 square foot of signage area
per 1 linear foot of mounting wall
I have also copied Donna Johnson with Central Permitting on this
e-mail. You will submit the commercial land use application and signage
plans directly to Central Permitting, but I am also more than happy to
review any signage prior to officially submitting just to ensure that
everything meets UDO standards.

Gary...here are my prelim comments. Nothing very big, just need
to add a few things.
* Add all applicable site data...PIN #, acreage, DB/ Pg
* Buffer along NC24-87 shall also consist of at least 1
large maturing tree every 30'
* All mechanical areas located on, beside, or adjacent to
the building shall be screened from the views of streets and adjacent
property.
* Add note that states "NC 24-87 Rd is on the Harnett County
Comprehensive Transportation Plan"
* Add note that states "This development is within the five
mile Military Corridor Overlay Zone, and may be subject to military
training activities."
* Note who will be responsible for maintenance of the
parking areas, drive aisles, and all landscape buffering.
* Add an owner's consent form. Example.
As the owner of record, I hereby formally consent to the
proposed development shown on this site plan and all regulations and
requirements of the Harnett County ordinances.
