Lot No. 96 – (99 Countryside Drive) Oakmont Subdivision Lillington, North Carolina
Permit Number: 17-541968 Project Number: 4240.500 (15948-00)
Dear Mr. Morgan:
On October 23 & 24, 2017, SUMMIT Engineering, Laboratory and Testing, P.C. (SUMMIT) visited the
subject site for the purpose of observing recommended repairs to the footing projections at the above
referenced project. The area with insufficient projections requiring repairs was located at the front right
corner of the front brick stairway.
The recommendations were provided in email correspondence with Mr. Morgan and are as follows; “In order
to extend the footing to meet and/or exceed the code minimum, a new concrete footing shall be placed next to
the existing footing at all locations where a minimum 2” projection is not found. The new footing shall be a
minimum of 10” deep, poured to match the existing footing depth. The new footing shall be secured to the
existing footing with #4 rebar dowels spaced at a maximum of 12 inches on center with a minimum of 2
dowels per footing projection segment. The dowels shall be drilled and epoxied, mid-depth, with Simpson
SET epoxy or equivalent. The dowels shall have a minimum 3” cover and minimum embedment of 4” into
both the new and existing footing. The epoxy shall be placed in a hole that is drilled and thoroughly cleaned
per the manufacturer’s specifications.” Based on our observations made on site on October 24, 2017, the
recommended repairs were performed in accordance with our recommendations noted above and are in
compliance with Chapter 4 of the 2012 North Carolina Residential code.
SUMMIT appreciates the opportunity to provide our professional services to you on this project. If you have
any questions concerning the information in this report or if we can be of further service, please contact us.
