Dear Mr. Iverson,
A site visit was made on Friday October 13, 2017 to review the situation with a thickened slab
located under a load bearing wood stud wall that was discovered by you to have a plumbing line
located in it. A portion of the slab was removed to expose the pipe. This load bearing wall is
supporting 4 floor trusses that span approximately 8'-6" but does not support any roof trusses. I
recommend shoring the wall and floor framing above,saw cutting the existing slab approximately
2'-0 wide and to the inside face of the perpendicular stud walls,and pouring a new thickened slab
as shown on the attached sketch. Once the new concrete thickened slab is poured it will be
adequate to support the load on the stud wall.
