Mr. Block is opening a business and doing a small remodeling job on the interior at 133 A
West Cornelius Harnett Blvd. The zoning is good for this the type of use (autoparts and
installation). Please put his Fire Marshal Review in process.
On another note, he said he wants to do the remodel himself and it's under $10,000. Do you
know what statute allows commercial property owners to do their own construction if it's
under a certain cost?

Thank you for submitting the plans for the Icon Offroad upfit. The plans have been
carefully reviewed by a qualified code enforcement official to examine for compliance
with the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code and all other fire protection regulatory
documents. There are some items that were found during the plan review process that
need to be addressed before a final inspection of the new facility can be given. These
items are outlined and described below.
Plan Review Notes
• 906.1 Fire Extinguishers
o Minimum of (1) 2A10:BC fire extinguisher shall be installed per 75'
distance of travel.
o All Fire extinguisher shall be properly mounted and tagged by a fire
extinguisher company.
o 506.1 Knox Box
o The building owner has been required to install a Knox box.
o Provide entry key to be placed in the complex Knox box.
• 1006.1 Means of Egress Illumination
o The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at
