Reason for Requested Change:
To amend Harnett County’s Noise Ordinance in order to decriminalize the enforcement and establish
a method of appeal and settlement for violations.
Memo:
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners were informed of this proposed text amendment during a work session on March 28,
2017. They have requested that this amendment be placed on their April 17, 2017 meeting agenda for a public hearing. The Planning Board is not required to forward a recommendation
regarding this amendment due to the nature of the Ordinance. Staff brings this amendment before the Planning Board as a form of notification and information regarding a regulatory document.
