Hamer Street Coats, NC Jimmy Cochran 919-548-6299 e-mailed to: iamgarner@yahoo.com RE: Engineering - Structural Analysis 93 W. Hamer Street Coats, NC ; Johnston County, NC Project No.:17DDM-0320B To whom it may concern: The undersigned arrived on-site 3-20-17 to observe, measure and analyze the following for the above referenced site. The front left portion of the floor joists and band were damaged by insects and the remedial repairs were to cut out the damaged portions of the joists and band and replace the joists to a 2X10 spanning approximately 12 feet and the bands were replaced by a (2)2X8 pressure treated band on the foundation or a (2)2X6 on treated 2X4 pressure treated plate. The 2X10 spanning 12 feet should have a 4X4 pressure treated post on a 16”x16”x8” concrete footing or double stacked solid masonry footing one in the center and at the ends or within 12” from the ends to adequately transfer and support the loading conditions. The repaired joists can be attached to the band by a Simpson L60 on each side to adequately transfer the loading conditions. The existing roof trusses were field made and the damaged sections were reconstructed as like to like and based on the analysis are adequate to transfer and support the planned loading conditions. The existing and new window and door headers were observed, measured and analyzed and are adequate as is. Sincerely, David Miller, PE DEM/17DDM-0320B
