q 7.Shaft vents serving stairs and elevators integral to the building envelope are equipped with motorized dampers.
Exceptions:
q Buildings without fire alarm system.
q Stairway vents open to the exterior.
q 8.Cargo doors and loading dock doors are weather sealed.
q 9.Recessed lighting fixtures installed in the building envelope are Type IC rated as meeting ASTM E283, are sealed with gasket or caulk.

Additional Efficiency Package Requirements:
q 1.The high efficiency HVAC option has been selected as the additional efficiency package required by this energy code. Systems that do
not meet the performance requirement will be identified in the mechanical requirements checklist report.

Compliance Statement: The proposed envelope design represented in this document is consistent with the building plans, specifications and
other calculations submitted with this permit application. The proposed envelope system has been designed to meet the 2012 North Carolina
Energy Conservation Code requirements in COMcheck Version 4.0.5.5 and to comply with the mandatory requirements in the Requirements
Checklist.
