The wall mounted smoke detectors outside Bedroom 3 and the Master Bedroom must be mounted in accordance with NFPA 72 Section 29.8.3.2. The top of the detector must be no closer than 4” from the top of the wall and no more than 36” from the sloped ceiling, measured horizontally. 3. An exterior light must be provided at the front stair. 4. Each resident bedroom must be provided with one or more operable windows to the outside for emergency egress. [NCSRC Section R310.1] The window in Bedroom 4 was not operable and must be repaired. 5. The flexible metallic duct from the dryer must transition to a hard metallic duct in the crawl space. [NC State Electrical Code, Section 210.8(A)] All exterior electrical receptacles did not function and must be repaired. 7. The discharge piping serving the pressure relief valve on the hot water heater was not installed. The relief valve must be piped to the floor, into an indirect waste receptor or outdoors. [2012 NCSPC 504.6] The discharge must be reconnected to the water heater and you must show that the pipe in the crawl space continues to the outdoors. 8. The evacuation plan must be posted in a central location and oriented correctly based on its location. [10A NCAC 27G .0207(b)] You must relocate the plan and turn it to the proper orientation.
