Dear Mr. Aiken,
ATC visited the above referenced site to observe and evaluate foundation soils for Lot 153. At the time
of our visit, building pad construction and footing excavation were complete. Soils appear to transition from
residual to up to 2 feet of fill, right to left, respectively.
Using a % inch diameter steel probe rod and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) per ASTM STP 399,
ATC tested soils at bottom of footing elevation. In addition, ATC performed hand augers and DCP testing
at the four outer corners if fill was present. ATC performed DCP testing at 1 foot intervals down to
satisfactory residual soils or maximum depth of 5 feet below finish pad elevation.
Results, at areas and elevations tested, indicated soils have sufficient bearing capacity to support a
foundation designed for a net allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (psf).
