10182002HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Minutes of Special Meeting (Workshop) October 18, 2002 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, October 18, 2002, in the County Manager's Office, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina. Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman • Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman Tim McNeill Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manger Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager Dwight W. Snow, County Attorney Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board Capt. Eddie Holder, Sheriff's Dept. Guests: Local N. C. Wildlife Officers Howard Penny, Jr., Chairman, Hunting Advisory Committee Chairman Byrd called the special meeting to order at 11:40 a.m. The group discussed problems with some hunters in Harnett County and enforcement of hunting regulations. It was suggested that County staff and Wildlife officers meet with members of the judicial system to discuss hunting issues. A meeting will be scheduled with Judge Ed McCormick, District Attorney Tom Lock, Neil Emory, Howard Penny, and Wildlife officers to develop a plan for enforcement of hunting regulations. In other business Mr. Emory reviewed the following items with the Board: • 1. Fuquay-Varina proposed waterlines 2. Need for pool of alternate members for the Board of Adjustment 3. Letter regarding proposed Transportation facility 4. Request from Health Department for fee increase for tatoo parlors and for plan review for restaurants. The Board will consider this request at budget time. 5. Write-offs for the Health Department and Tax Department and foreclosures 6. Transportation Improvement Plan meeting will be held Thursday in the Assembly Room. There being no further business, the special meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m. Jae aj ed J.
