At the time of our visit, building pad construction and footing excavation were complete. Soils appear to be mostly residual front left transitioning up to 5 feet structural fill back right. Using a IA inch diameter steel probe rod and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) per ASTM STP 399, ATC tested soils at bottom of footing elevation. In addition, ATC performed a hand auger and DCP testing at the 4 outer corners if fill was present. ATC performed DCP testing at 1 foot intervals down to satisfactory residual soils, maximum depth of 5 feet below finish pad elevation, or auger refusal. Results, at areas and elevations tested, indicated soils have sufficient bearing capacity to support a foundation designed for a net allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (psf).
