Minutes of Special Meeting (Budget Work Session)
• June 6, 2002
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Thursday, June 6,
2002, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Administration Building, 102 East
Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.

Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager

Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Mr. Emory reported to the Board on a meeting with representatives from Fort Bragg
regarding housing that will be built in Harnett County for military families.
• The Board discussed a request from Mr. Buddy Kimmons that the County waive all
landfill fees for all waste associated with site clean-up of his son's mobile home that was
recently destroyed by fire. It was the consensus of the Board to allow Mr. Kimmons up
to $225.00 credit for landfill fees associated with clean-up of the site, contingent on Mr.
Kimmons providing the Board with a copy of his son's insurance policy on the mobile
home.
Mr. Emory led a review and discussion of the proposed FY 2002-2003 Harnett County
Budget in a work session format. There being no further business, the special meeting,
June 6, 2002, adjourned at 6:00 p.m. The next budget work session is scheduled for June
12, 2002, at 4:00 p.m.
