Per my site review of the above referenced:
The LVL ridge that was "Cut near the hearing surface can repaired- asTollows:`
Fasten a %" piece strip of plywood on each side of the ridge that starts from
the outside of the hearing edge and extends to the 2 " rafter opposite;the
bearing edge. The plywood should be flush with the bottom of the LVL and
extend upward to at least the midpoint of the LVL. Fasten with 3 — 8d nails
on each side of the cut and 3 — Sd nails spaced 12 ".centers.
