rnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Wednesday,
May 15, 2002, in the County Manager's office, 102 East Front Street, Lillington,
North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Commissioner Tim McNeill joined the group via telephone.
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
Steve Bright, Talbert & Bright, Inc., and Tony Wilder, Assistant County Manager,
provided an update on the Airport Runway Extension project.
• Neil Emory, County Manager, presented a brief summary of the proposed FY 2002-
2003 Harnett County Budget.
Other matters discussed were proposed alcohol sales by township, led by
Commissioner McNeill, and a proposal regarding old Coats School facilities and
property led by Chairman Byrd.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners' special
meeting, May 15, 2002, adjourned at 12:45 a.m.
