The Explosive Detonation Ordinance was approved by the Planning Board on February 2, 2015. It will be forwarded and presented to the Harnett County Commissioners on February 16, 2015. Ongoing  Planning Staff has chosen Land Design, Inc. as the Land Use Planning Consultant for the New Harnett County Comprehensive Growth Plan. The contract is complete and work has begun. On January 21st, a staff/consultant county field trip was conducted to get everyone familiar with the area.  In respect to a NC Wildlife Resources Grant received by the County, Planning Staff is working with our specific contractors for each portion of the grant as well as providing hard data for their use. A curriculum has been formatted by Sustainable Sandhills, and children are currently being recruited to participate in these activities. Land Design, Inc. is approximately 80% complete on their tasks of interactive mapping and key area location. We anticipate both portions of this process to be complete within 4 months.
