11071955485 NOVEMBER 7th. 1955 The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, November 7th., 1955 at 10 :00 A.M. with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to Board. The report of Inez Harrington, negister of Deeds. was approved and ordered filed. the report of Elizabeth F. Matthews, Clerk Superior Court, was approved and ordered filed. The report of D. P. nay, Tax Collector, was approved and ordered filed. The report of Kyle Harrington, Clerk of Recorders Court was approved and ordered filed. The report of L. B. McLean, Veteran Service Officer, was approved and ordered filed. The report of Roy Godwin, County Electrical Inspector, was approved and order- ed filed. The report of Earl H. Wells, Harnett County Dog W ,,rden, was approved and filed. The Board ordered that the amount of $60.00 be allowed to C. H. Avery for patrolling the School Zone in the town of Erwin. Commissioner Womble moved, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, that Pearl McLamb, Secretary to the Harnett County Health Repartment, be raised from 4110.00 to $160.00 per month. Commissioner Ingram moved, seconded by Commissioner Womble, that the travelling expenses allowed to Earl Wells, Dog Warden, of Harnett County be the same as the travel allowance for the Rural Policemen for nis out of county travel. Motion carried. Commissioner Ingram, moved, seconded by Commissioner 'Nomble, that W. B. Castleberry, Lonstable, be allowed 4130.00 for capturing of stills in Harnett Co. for the month of February and :larch 1955, and for which he has not heretofore been paid. Motion carried. Upon motion of Commissioner Womble, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, the Board approved the lease with the town of Lillington dated Nov. 1, 1955, and covering the second story of the Town Hall and authorized the chairman to execute the same on behalf of the countyattested by the Cleric and ordered the Clerk to record the same and cross index it upon the public records of the office of the Register of peeds of Harnett County. Motion carried. Bond 1 92- 369871 with Maryland Casualty Company with John J. West as Principal Deputy Sheriff of Harnett County was approved and ordered filed with Clerk of Superior Court. Commissioner Pate moved, seconded by Commissioner Womble, that the Columbian Bank - :.Note Company having submitted the lowest bid be awarded the contract for printing Harnett County School Bonds at a cost of *357.50, with an additional cost of 622.50 for each, change in the interest rate. Motion carried. The Beard ordered the County offices to be closed Friday, November llth, and Saturday A.M. November 12, for Armistice Day. The Board also - ordered the County offices to be closed November 26th for Thanksgiving Day. That a resolution adopted on October 17, 1955, entitled: "Resolution Fixing The Details and Form and Manner Of Execution of $2,000,000 School Building Bonds" be and the same is hereby amended by inserting the words - "or, at the optionof the holder or registered owner, at the Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, in the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, " after the words "City and State of New York," in Section 2 of said resolution and in the first Paragraph of the bond form set forth in Section 4 of said resolution, and by inserting the words' "or,nat the option of the bearer, at the Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, in the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, after the words "City and State of New York," in the coupon form set forth in said Section 4, so that the places of pay- ment of the principal of and the - interest on the $2,000,000 School Building Bonds to be issued under date of November 1, 1955, shall be The Chase Manhattan Bank, in the Borough of Aanhattan, City afd State of New York, and the Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, in the City of Raleigh, North Carolina. y, 487 1 SECTION 2.
