JUNE 11th, 1956
The,Boa_rd of Commissioners met in adjourned regular session at 7 :30 p.m. on
June, 11, 1956, with all members present except Commissioner Pate, who was absent
on account of illness. The County Attorney and County Atdttorywere also present.
The Clei<k'to the Board was absent by reason of attending the Register of Deeds
institute in dhapel Hill, North Carolina, The Chairman instructed the County
Attorney to act as Secretary of the meeting in her absence'.
In addition to discussing various matters relating to the 1956 -57 county budget,
the following business was transacted:
Upon motion of Commissioner Womble, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, the
Board voted unanimously to reappoint Z. B. McLean as Veterans Service Officer for
the term of oyne year effective July 1, 1956.
Upon motion, of Commissioner Ingram, seconded by Commissioner Womble, the
Board voted unanimously to reappoint D. P. Hay, Jr., as Tax Collector for a'
term of one year effective July 1, 1956.
Upon motion of Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Womble, the
Board voted unanimously to impose for the-fiscal year 1956 -57 the same_ Schedule
B license t axes that were imposed for the year 1955-56.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
