Harrington and Unanimously adopted by the Board of Commissioners,to -wit: RRESOLVED: That whereas, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County did, on the 7th day of January 1907 authorize the publication of a certain notice that a bill would be introducd in the General Assembly of North Carolina, at its session of 1907, to authorize the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County to issue bonds in sefficient amount to refund the entire indebtedness of Harnett Ccunty, bonds or otherwise; and whereas, the said notice was publis- hed as required by law in the "Duran Weekly Guide, "a news -parer published in Harnett Count, North Carolina; and whereas, the said act for the issue of bonds in the sum of Forty Thou- sand Dollars ($40000) for the purpose of paying said bonded and floating debt, and for the further purpose of aiding in the construction of a bridge between Harnett and Cumberland Counties,was passed by the General Assembly of Ncrth Carolina in accordance with the re- quirements cf the Constitution and laws of North Carolina; and whereas, at the meeting of he r:car,'t of Commissioners of Harnett County held on Day 13th 1907, the said Board by un- animous vote of all members present, did authorize the issuance of said bonds in the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars (",'40000),as empowered to do by said act,and for the purposes ex- pressed in said act; and whereas, said Board et the said meeting of May 13th 1907,fixed the time for the receiving of bids and sale of said bonds at July Fth 1907 at 12 o'clock W. and appointed G. K. Grantham, Chairman, to make advertisement of the said sale of said bonds; and whereas, after due advertisement of said sale as required by the Board, the Board of Commissioners net in regular monthly session on July 8th 1907 and at 12 o'clock L. upon opening and comparing the said bids for the said bonds,fcurd and declared John Nuveen and Company, of Chicago,to be tile Lest and highest bidders for said bonds at the sum of Forty Thousand Pour Hundred and Twenty -Five Dollars ($404 25.00); and whereas, said bid made by John. Nuveen and Company was accepted by unanimous vote of said board; Now, therefore, for the purpose of collating fully the action of this Board at its several meeting, and for the further purpose of fully ratifying and confirming all the actions of this Board with reference to said bond issue, especially the acts herein recited ac the a4.A horoin rnr;ted as the acts of said hoard; it is hereby declared that the recitals herein set forth be and they are hereby declared to be the acts of this Board with reference to said bond issue, and all acts and things herein recited as raving been done by said Board of Commissioners or any one acting for said Poard are hereby fully ratified and appr- oved by this Board. It is further ordered that,for the purpose of fully preparing the recordsetc. pertaining to and affecting :aid bond issue, and for the further purpose, of consummating the delivery of said bonds upon the terms herein set forth, C. Y. Muse be and he is hereby appointed the special attorney and agent of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County to take such action as he may deem wise and expedient to complete the sale of the said bonds,and to this end he may employ such assistance as he may deem necessary. The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Those voting for the passage of the resolution: T. A. Harrington, J. A. Smith, G. K. Grantham ,W. H. Turlington and D. P. McDonald. Those voting against the resolution: None. I beg to submit the following report -as the Committee appointed by your Board, to make Contract with Cumberland County Concerning the erection of a bridge between Cumberland and Harnett Counties over Lower Little River I Contracted to pay Yn1800.00 as Harnett Counties part of the total Contract price of :4500.00 The proration of cost being fixed between the two Counties as follows: Cumberland County 5/5 of Contract price, Harnett County 2/5 Contract price, Respectfully Submitted , G. K. Grantham, Chairman. Upon Motion the report is unanimously approved and the action of G. K. Grantham is ratified by the Board. There being no further business the board adjourned.
