Farrington ,J.A.Smith,D.P.McDonald and W.H.Turaington, Dr.J.W.Halford Supt.of Health,presented his monthly report,same was ordered filed. J.H.Williams Treas.presented his monthly report,same was ordered filed.. It appearing to the Board that E.B.Respass,heretofore elected Engineer for Harnett County in the matter of the Construction of the Two Steel Bridges across Cape Fear River,is pre - vented by other business engagements fdom carrying on said work,now,therefore by another motion Jerry Respass is unsninously elected Engineer under the same terms and conditions as heretofore provided in the election of E.B.Respass. Bond of Carolina Engineering Company,with American Bonding Company of Baltimore as surety for 30 000 00 conditions upon carrying out of the contract for the erection of the Two Steel Bridges across Cape Fear River,bonded to the Board and accepted by the following vote,those voting for_ Harrington, Turlington ,McDonald,Smith,Gra:ntham,Thoae voting againet,none. Ordered,that W.B.Gardner be relieved of 97¢ tax in B.R.Special School. Orderdd that Alex McLean,be employed to keep the Lillington Ferry at $26.per month,and that H.C.Stewart and D.P.McDonald,`be appointed to take his bond. Ordered that D.P.McDonald and C.W.Muse,be appointed a Com.to look after getting wrecked bridge out of River,and that Engineer Respass he put in charge of same. Ordered that petitio4 signed by J.L.Wilbourn and others asking for the establishing of a public road from Angier to Pleasant Union Church over the lands of J.C.Williams and others be granted and said road laid out according to law. Ordered that petition signed by W.D.Boys and others asking for the establishing of a pub- ic road from Norval Post Office in a Western direction as the neighborhood road now leads by the Harrington Mill Place to the Pee Dee Road opposite W.J.Kelly's place be granted and said road laid out according to law. Ordered that petition signed by A.B.Wade and others asking for the establishing of a pub- lic road from Jno.L.Darroch's to Phillip b'cRae's at stony branch on the Johnsonville road, over the lands of J.L.Darroch and others be granted and laid out according to law.
