Also present L.C. Carter with his legal advisor E.S. Parker, and E.A. Kline with his legal advisor
E.F. Young, and the following was agreed upon -:
The board not also for the purpose of accepting the Duke bridge tendered by the Carolina Engineer-
ing Co.,and its approaches tendered'by E.A. Kline and for settlement with the respective contractor:
for the same.
It is ordered by the board said bridge and approaches be and.the sane are hereby a.ccdpted..
It appearing to the board that there is a balance uripaid the Carolina Engineering Co., on its con -
tract price for the two. bridges across the Cape Fear River of 14,729,99, It is ordered by the -boar
by the consent of the Carolina Engineering Co., that said Co, be debited with the following Items
Steel left out of Duke bridge, :129.75

The board 'paving received notice of loin against said bridge as' follows

It is ordered by the board by'the consent of the parties interested that said amounts be hold by
the board pending a settlement between the Carolina Engineering Co., and the respective claimants'
the same to be paid, over to the party entitled to same upon the joint orderof the parties interest
therein, or upon any such party being adjudged entitled to receive same by a court of Competent
juriddiction it is further orderel by consent of the Carolina Engineering Co., that J.A. Green be
paid the sum of ''37.00 and that the same be charged to the Carolina Engineering Co.,
It is further ordered by the board that the Carolina. Engineering Co., be paid the sum of !t10.534.41
balance in full for' the erection for the said two bridges.
It further appearing that this board has heretofore accepted an order for '5000.O0on said sum
which order directed the payment of said ? 1,5000.00 to the First National' Bank of Durham, it is there
fore ordered that the sum due said Carolina Engineering Co.4 with three orders as follows
One order payable to First National Bank of Durham 5000.00
One order to tar ,Engineering Co., 1$000.00
One order to Car ,` Engineering Cp., 834.41
This order shall not effect the right of Eduard virtue of his' having full notice of
claimagainst orders signed by E.A Kline.
Also order were allowed to E.A. Kline fot the following amounts one for M0.00
and one for '30.00
