C.F.Neighbors,Released of tax on 11 Lots in Averasboro Twp.,same having been listed and paid by R.L.Godwin,amount of release $14.20. H.A.Hodges,Released of taxes on 53 acres land in Averasboro Twp. Amount 41165 Archie A.Jernigan,released of Taxes on Two Lots near Dunn,amount .95 cents. It was ordered by the Board that Robt.Keen & Henry Overby be allowed $5.00 for the present quarter;and be placed on the Regular Pauper List hereafter ,also that Robert Cutts,Colored,be allowed'$3.00 for the present Quarter,and be placed on the Regular Pauper List hereafter at . an allotance of $3.00 per quarter. The following order was passed by the Board: "The matter of settlement of the County with Baniel.B.Stewart,former Treasurer of the County,coming up and it appearing that the 41000.00 due the County by said D.B.Stewart, for which his note and Mortgage in the sum of One Thousand ($1000.00)Dollars,had been offered and rejected by the Board,has not yet been paid over or accounted for by said D.B.Stewart,and it further appearing that the demand of the Board of Commissioners of the County of Harnett for payment and settlement by said D.B.Stewart for the further sum of $4505.87,which said D.B.Stewart is due the County of Harnett as shown by the Auditor s Report,has not been complied with,and that said Indebtedness has not been paid and adjusted. It is now Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County,in Regular Meeting assembled,That action be instituted in the Superior Court of Harnett County,against the said D.B.Stewart,and the Sureties on his Official Bonds as Former Treasurer of the County,for the collection of said Indebtedness of slid D.B.Stewart to the County,and of any and all other indebtedness which may be due the said County by said D.B.Stewart. To the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County: We,the undersigned free- holders,in whose names the real estate is listed in the Tax Lists of the current fiscal year in the County of Harnett,constituting One- fourth of such persons in the proposed Special School District included within the following boundaries, to wit: BEGINNING on the Bank of Cape Fear River at the Mouth of Upper Little River;thence up Cape Fear River to (at or near; McAlister s Dam; thence across the Country to Upper Little River at or near hel•Ae #& E.B.Reid s ; thence down Little River to the beginning. The same consti- tuting what is now Lillington Township District No. 2. Respectfully petition your Honorable Board for an Election under Section 4115 School Lai to ascertain the will of the People within the proposed Special School District whether there - ahall be levied in said District a Special Annual Tax of not more that .30 cents on the One Hundred Dollars valuation of Property,and .90 cents onthe Poll to supplement the Public School Fund which may be apportioned to said District by the County Board of Education in case such special Tax is voted.
