Ray also Chas Ross Attorney. • Minutes of Last meeting read and ppproved. Chas Ross Atty presented a new note from B.F. Norris for $87.70. Moves,a' by J.C. Byrd second by R.D. Oberby and passed that the county home be run by the county and to get a Farmer for the same. Mr J.G. Layton of.Grove come before the board concerning building bridges across Stewarts Creek and Thorntons creek in Grove Township between Buies creek and Duke Near Mr Laytons Mr Layton was authorized to build the-bridges- present a statement as to cost and to donate $50 on same so ordered by board. Petition filed by Yr G.L. Heimingway for road petition the Chm was authorized to Investigate the same was turned over to mr J.D. Barnes. Ordered that J.T. Wilkins present his tax receipt from Johnson and be releived from poll tax in Harnett Ordered that the Auditor XI release L.H. Shinner taxes on $300 property listed by error. Johnson be authorized to look into the matter of John D. Sandford as to hejp from the oounty. W.D. Womble having resigned from the Ferrymans place of Northington Perry L.D. Arnold having been app- ointed at a salary of $19.50 was required to give bond in the sum of $200. Motion before the board to MM4 M reduce the valuation of John Yarbroughs land Ordered that J.A. Whittenton be released of $4000 excess valuation on laad in Grove Township. Ordered that the A.C.L. Road be released of$48.80 on taxes of road distrioe of Andersons Creek Township Orderd that one half of the appropation be %/yrfjljEjj,4 allowed for the County Farm Bife School $750.00 Ordered that S.J. McPhail be released of Poll 1916 and also permantly releived. Orderd that J.G. Byrd, D.P. Ray and R.P. Oberby be appointed 6o investigate as to the Farm Demonstrator Ordered that L.L. Levenson be appointed Vice - Recorder Orderd that the Jailer be paid a salary of $15.00 per month. - Moved and seconded and carried that the Bank of Lillington be made Permanent depository for the County. After passing the orders below the•comissioners adjoured to mast Monday January. 8th 1917. J.B. Dupree having been Elected Constable for Black River Township for the next two years presented his Official Bond in the sum of $500 with J.R. Adams and E.H.
