I Fonnie Williams was taken off of pauper list. 411 To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, Gentlemen: -. I have the honor to submit herewith a partial report on certain paupers visited by me as requested sornetiy.e ago. Bettie Waddell, Coats, N.C. This person is bed ridden, being absolutely unable to care for her physical wants. In as much as she weighs 175 pounds she is very difficult to handle or nurse. Cuthrine Hassey, Coats, P1.C. This is a colored woman who claims to be about 100 years of age. She is unable to nerfrom any work. Hiss Cattie Morrison, Lillinuton, N.C. #3. Miss Morrison has been for several years, practically speaking, an invalid and unable to work. She owns a small amount of property from which she gets some rents. It seems that the county home would be a most appropriate place for this lady. W.B. Hare, Duke, N.C. This party has been dead about one ;year. His family has been receiving the allowance and at my recommendation his name has been dropped from the roll. Polly Colville, Duke, N.C. I called at the home where this woman lived. and found her away, and have no recommnendation to make. Batt Willit#ms, Bunnlevel, N.C. This is a colored man about 65 or 70 years of age. The only physical disability found in his case was a rupture which has existed since childhood. His'name has also been dropped upon my recommendation. Mrs. 0.21. Jackson, Coats, N.C. I have made an,ineffectu..nl attempt to locate this woman on two different occasions. Offie Elliott, Bunnlevel, N.C. This is a colored boy about 30 years of age and has been a complete invalid all his life, and whatever allowance made for him should be continued. Fonnie Williarlis, Bunnlevel, N.C. No one could tell me who this party was when I went to investigate his condition? W.H. Holman, Broadway, N.C. #2. This party is an invalid as the result of infantile paralysis and whatever allowance made for hixa would seem reasonable. Rddie Baker, Fuquav Springs, N.C. This young man is a borned idiot and is under constant restraint, usually chained to a tree or other object around his home. I recommend that allowance be continued. Lovenia Baker, Fuquay Sprinn .s, N.C. This woman is the mother of Eddie maker and is between 60 and 70 years of age. A good portion of her .time, is consumed in caring for her idiot son. Although her health is fairly good, age considered, I recormnend that the allowance be continued. Ellen Baker, Fuqug Springs, N.C. This woman is a complete invalid following a stroke of appoplexy some years ago. She is the wife of Asgill Baker who served one year on the roads of Barnett County fpr de- sertion and non - support. Your honorable boday may investigate if he is still subject to the law regarding her support. Any allowance made would seem reasonable. Amanda Mills, CUBma, N.C. Mrs. Mills is nearly 70 years of age, quite robust. Her age considered I would recommend that she be invited to go to the County Home or her allowance discontinued. Tyler Hagwood. This old gentlemen was before your Board some months ago at which time I examined him. On my recommendation you increased his allowance at that time. T.B. Buchanan and wife, Upper Little River. This old gentleman is extremely feeble, having suffered a stroke of appoplexy some gears ago. His wife is also old and feeble. Thee have a young son in robust health about wO years of age. Mrs. Buchanan also owns certain real estate, the value of which I am not familiar with. I suggest that you have your attorney look into the property value of this family. Wm. Stanleir, Neil'sCreek township. Mr. Stanley is in rather poor health and unable to do a full man's work. He lives with his son and is well able to do enough work for his support. I would recommend his name be dropped. Mollie Wood, Buckhorn township. This woman lives just in the edge of Harnett, across from Chatham. I found her in bed where she had been for some years, suffering with Chronic Rheumatism and probably tuberou- losis. Any allowance made her is justified. Robert Keen. This man's case has been disposed of by having* been dropped from. the pension roll. Alex Pegram, Hector's Creek. I have never been able to locate him. The only person by this name I know of is a colored man about 70 years of age, but I have never been able to locate him. Mrs. B.Gilbert. This party is a very feeble, aged, widowed woman. I recommend that her allowance be continued as she is practically unable to perform any work. Idias Denton, Neill's Creek. I spent several hours attempting to Locate this party. I find she is nearing 30 years of age and has been an absolute invalid all her life. She and her people have lived; i ME in this county something about a year, coining from Nash county. Her people seem to be quite prosperous and I would recommend that her name bal laced on the roll. Jane Mashburn, Hector's Creek. Miss Mashburn is a woman of rather low mentality and was in the county home a short tiAe ago but became dissatisfied and left without notice. I would recommend that her allowance be discontinued as she is well able to work. Sallie McNeill, -Lillington. This colored woman is about 70 years of age. She own her own home and is amply able tp earn a living as her services are in demand at $1.00 a day and board, which she receives whenever she will work.. I recommend that she be dropped from the roll.. Yours verk truly, J.N. Halford. Auditor's report for Ivfonth of November 1919.
