Moved by R.T. Johnson and seconded by W. J. 2R.c Stewart tat County Commissioners give quit -claim Deed to Harnett County Warehouse Company for lot in L llington. Ordered that $100300dibes appropriated for old soldiers to make trip to Houston, Texas. Moved by this Board that the petition for Bond Issue in Buckhorn Township for $75,000.00 be rescinded, and new petition be filed, and Registrar and Poll Holders be notified. NORTH CAROLINA. Whereas, on the 3rd. day of Oct. 1898, under and b virtue of a resolution of the Board of County Commissioners passed and adopted July 4th7 1898, certain public lands of the County were sold; and whereas, at said sale Mrs. O.J. Spears became the *Rrehaser bB the fol lowinglands, the same being a part of the. publid lands of the county sold at said sale,to -wit: All of Lots Nos. 1,2 and 3 in Block G in the plot of the Town of Lillington, which said plot is registered in Book 160, page 600; and whereas the said Spears complied with the terms of said sale, and by order of the Board of Commissioners adopted Oct. 5th. 1898., a deed was duly executed and delivered to the said Spears conveying said land to him; and whereas, said deed has never been recorded and cannot now be found; and whereas, since said purchase and eonveyanve the Harnett County Warehouse Company by mesne conveyances of the said Spears has become the owner of a certain portion of said property which is hereinafter described, and deeiresnow to cure the defect in said title due to the non - registration of the said need to the said Spears. Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, that__ J.C. Byrd, acting Chairman of said Bpard, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to the said Harnett County Warehouse Company, a deed quit - claiming and releasing unto the party of the second part the lands hereinafter described. To THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY CO)WISSIONERS: We, the undersigned Registrar and-Judges of Eleotion, appointed to hold an election in Stewart's Creek Townsip on Saturad «, Sept. 11th. 1920, for the purpose of submitting to the qual- ified voters of said Townshi the question of issuing bonds for said Township in the Sum of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars (25,000.00) in accordance with t)m Chapter- 427 of the Public Local Laws of 1913 and amendments thereto, certify nsfollows: 1. Tuat we have held the polls and conducted said election in all respects as provided by law. 2. Tnat the total number of qualified voters in said Township is 119 3. Byrd and Jasper Byrd, judges of elec- tion, heretofore appointed to hold an election in Stewart,s Creek Township for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said township the question of issuing bonds in the sum ofTwenty Five Thousand Dollars forimprovement of the Public Roads of said Township in accor- dance with provisions of Chapter 427 of Public Local Laws of 1913, and amendments thereto, having been filed with this Board at call meeting on Sept. 13th. 1920, upon consideration of said report, this board in its capacity as a canvassing Board finds the following fadte, txxkttx to -wit: (1) That said election was duly called and advertised as provided by law and in accor- dance with the terms and the previous orders of this Board. (2) That said election was held on Sept. 11th. 1920, and in all respects conducted as by Law rovided. That the total number of' qualified voters in said Township on day of election was one hundred and nineteen. (4) That the total nu*b or of votes cast for "For Bond Issue" was seventy four. wherefore, it is considered, adjudged and hereby declared that the proposed bond issue received the approval of a majority of the qualified voters of said township; and the Road Commis- sioners for said Township, are declared to be autbrized and empowered to issue in the dame of Stewart Creek Rmzd Twonship bonds in the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars to run twenty years from date, and bear interest at the rate of six per cent per annum, and the said bonds and interest are declared a valid lien upon the property of said township; and this Board hereby obligates itself and its successors in office to levy and cause to be collected in said Stewart Creek Township suffiecient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and provided for a sink- ing fund for payment of principal thereof, when due. Upon motion of R.T. Johnson,seconded by Commissioner, D.P. Ray, the above resolution was adop- tedand orddred spread upon the minutes; those voting in the affirmative, being, Commissioners, Johnson,Ray, MoStewart, Byrd, those voting in the negative, being, none. Zawls, Judged of election, hereto- fore appointed to hold and election in Hector's Creek Township for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said Township the question of issuing bonds in the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars for the improvement of the public roads of said Township, in accordance with provisions of Chapter 427 of Public Local Laws of 1913, and amendments thereto, having been filed with this board at call meeting of Sept. 13th. 1920, upon consideration od said report, this borad in its capacity as a canvassing Board finds the following facts, to -wit: (1) That slid election was dull' called and advertised as provided by law and in accordance with the previous orders of this board. (2) That the said election was held on the 11th. day of Sept. 1920, and in all respects con- ducted as by law provided.
