A. Buchanan and J.W.Jordan, with W.II.Faucette, Clerk and Chas. Rose, Attorney. Upon motion of Commissioner Jordan, seconded by Commissioner, Johnson, the following resolu- tion was unanimoudly a4opte3; Whereas this Boari did on July 1922_, orier issued note of the County in the sum of Sixty five Thousand Dollars ($65000.00) to proviie funds to apply on the construction of LaFayette Highway through Harnett County; and Whereas said notes, with interest , matures at Chase Nation- al Bank, New York, on July 15th. 1922; and whereas the funds from the State out of which said road is ultimately to be paid for are bot yet available; but whereas it appears that the State Highway Commission have agreed to complete said road from State funds without further call upon the Countym, and it appears feasible to reduce said note to $401000.00m by application of cer- tain funds n -ow available for LaFayette Highway fund now to the credit of the County of Harnett in the Harnett County Trust Company; but that the renewl of said rote for the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars for twelve months is necessary; Now, the ref are, it is ordered: That the Chairman be awl he is hereby ordered e.�teeutrr in the name of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County note in the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) bearing interest at the rate if five ani one haflf per cent per arnum, payable semi - annually, said note to bear date of July 15th. 1922, and mature twelve months after date, both principal and interest pay - arle at Chase National Bank in City of New York; sail note to be signed in the name-of said Baai of Commissioners, attested by its Clerk, ani its corporatet seal affixed thereto. Be it resolved further that the full faith and credit of the County of Harnett be and the sae same is hereby pledge3 to the punctual payment of the principal and interest of sand note as the same shall b +come due. This not, is issued in accorlaree with the provision of sections 1 3767 -72 of Consolidated Statutes of North Carolina, an3 are found and declared to be within all constitutional and statutory limitations. The Chairmand of this Board is authorized to draw from the funds now to the credit of the County aiyicass[ittxx with Harnett County Trust Company, the sum of $28,900.00 which, together with the proceeds of the note above authorized shall be used to pay the $65000.00 note and interest on same maturing July 15th. 1922.
