1928. Call Meeting. `
IbCHMAS, the Board of County Commissioners of ,Harnett County has been
advised by the office of the Attorney General of North Carolina that there
is no provision in the laws passed by the 1927.jegislature restricting the all
wane
of 4 discount for taxes paid in the months of October, and November, immediately
following the levy of taxes by the County of Harnett;
AND wHMAS, it is deeped to the best interest of Harnett County that
the discount allowed on taxes, p*id during October and November 1927 be allowed
for taxes paid. during October and November 1928.
Noce, Therefore, be it resolved that a discount-of one- -half of one
per cent per month be allowed on all taxes collected by the tax collector of
Harnett County during the months of October and November, 1928, *aid discount
on all taxes paid during the month of October 1928 to be one per cent, and
said discount on all taxes paid during the month of November 1928 to be one—
half of one per cent.

Appropriations Resolution For Fiscal Year 1928-1929,
Be It resolved and ordained by the Board of Commissioners of
Harnatt County that the amounts set out in the following schedule, or
so much of each appropriation as may be ne Gessary, be and the same are
hereby appropriated for the purposes of paying the expenses of the
said Uounty of Barnett for the fiscal year 1928-29*
Courts
(a) It is Ordered that the min of W00*00 be appropriated for
the salary of the Judge of Recorder's Court for the fiscal year 1928-1929.
(b) It is ordered that the sun of 41600*00'be appropriated for the
salary of the Solicitor of the Recorder's Court for fiscal year 1928-1929.
(a) It is ordered that the sum of 45W,00�be appropriated for the
salary of the Judge of Juvenile Court, Clerkta fees, and other expenses
of said court, for the fisaol year 1928-29, salary of said Judge of
Juveniie Court to be $450.00 per year*
(d) It is ordered that the sum of $6000*00 be appropriated for the
pay of jurors ard stenographer for the fiscal year 1928-1929.
(a) It is ordered that the sum of $5500*00 be appropriated for the
salary of court stenographer and court costs in the Superior Court for the
two Recorder's Courts.
(f) It is ordered that, the, sum of 41100.00�be appropriated for
the-payment of supplies, costs and other expenses of the Clark of the
Superior Court and of the Recorder's Court for the fiscal year 1928-29,
Sberiffts Office
(a) It is ordered that the sum of $3580.0Cbe appropriated to
the payment of the salary of the sheriff and expenses of his office for
the fiscal year 1928-29,
(b) It is ordered that the sum of $2615 *00 be appropriated for
the payment of the salary of the jailor, for fees of jailor, for board
of prisoners., and all other expenses connected with the operation of
said county jail for the fiscal year 1928-29p salary of said jailor to be
$240.00 per annumo
Maintenance of Jail & Courthouse
It is ordered that the sum of 42100*00 be aplzopriataiL for the
maintensaoe of the courthouse and jail, for repairs of same and all
other expenses connected with heating and supplying said courthouse
and jail for the fiscal year 1928-29,
Auditor
It is ordered that the sum of $3775.00 be appropriated for the
purpose of paying salary.of Auditor, the clerical help of the Auditor
other than that necessary for compiling tax lists, and supplies of
said office for the fiscal year 1928-29.
County Commissioners
(a) It is ordered that the sum of $1800.00 be appropriated
for the payment of salary of chairman of Board, the per diem pay and
traveling expenses of = mbers of the Board of Commissioners, and
salary of Clerk to this Board for the fiscal year 1928-29*
(b) It is ordered that the sum of $1000.00 be appropriated
to the use of the Board of Commissioners for the purpose of making
such lawful donations, as the Board of Commissioners deem visa, to the
best interest of the County for the fiscal year 1928-29.
(c) It is ordered that the sum of $2500.00 be appropriated to
the use of the Board of Commissioners for payment of professional services
for the year 1928-29, which sum shall.inolude the retainer of county
attorney, which retainer fee shall be $400*00*
(d) It Is ordered that the sum of 000.00 be appropriated for
the payment of such donations as the Board of Commissioners dean wise to

purpose of paying for extra -clerical help for computing tax lists and paying
per diems of list - takers.
(a) It is ordered that the sum of $400.00 be appropriated for the
payment of tax scrolls and receipt books, abstracts and binders for the
fiscal year 1928 -1929.
Health Officer
It is or derec that the sum of a $4000.00 be . eppr opr fated for the use
of the health officer, which sum shall include the payment of salary of
Health Officer, whiah salary is to be 4900.00 per year, the cost of eacei-
nations ordered by the State Board of Health after budget of 1927 -28 had
been adopted; the costs of vital statistics, report and registration of
vital statistics, for the fiscsi year 1928 -29.
Bona And Interest
It is ordered that the cum of $38,500,00 be appropriated for the {
purpose of paying bonds, interest on bonds for the fiscal year 1928 -29.
County Home And Outside -Poor
It is ordered that the slum of $6500.00 be appropriated for the
salary of the Superintendent o:t County Home and his assistants, supplies
for the county home and the rzdessary expenses of said county home for the
fiscal year 1928 -29.
(b) It is ordered that ',the sum of 0700.00 be appropriated for
the payment of the allowances made by the Board of County Commissioners
to paupers, Mothers Aid Funds,IBurial of Confederate soldiers, burial of
paupers, operations and medicilL treatment of pampers, and sanatorium fund
for the fiscal year 1928 -29.
