04021928MINUTES OF MEETING OF COMEISSIONERS .ON MONDAY APRIL, 2, 1928. Commissioners met in regular session on Monday April 2, 1928. All members present as follows: Jas. A. n1zchanan, Chairman; B.P. Ingram, J.A. Hockaday, . Snipes and L.R. Byrd, with I.R. Williams, county attorney. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina, At is necessary to borrow the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars, for the purpose of paying the appropriations made for the current fiscal year in anticipation of the collection of taxes and other revenues of such fiSoai year; Be It Therefore Resolved; by the County Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, that the County of Harnett borrow, and be authorized to borrow on the full faith and credit of said county as provided in Chapter 81, Sections 4 and 7`, Laws of 1927, the sum of Piftaen.::Thousehd Do1I;ars,, c . It is ordered that the valuation of the land of T.Y. McAuley be reduced to the extent of $660.00 on account of error in listing waste land. It is ordered that 30 acres of land of J.P. Byrd which is listed at $50.00 per acre be reduoet to $10.00 per sore, which land should be listed as waste land. It is ordered that N.T. McNeill be relieved of $2.00 dog tax, on aeoount of error in listing. It is ordered that certain property belonging to Elvira Massengill locate& in bleak BN° in the torn of Dunn, be released free the lien of taxes for the years -1926 and 1927 upon the payment to the Tax iolleetor of 4192.67. (See Petition and Order oopied herein). It is ordered that the Aatitor release the 160 sore tract of land of Mrs. Rena Barnes upon the payment of the sun of $163.46 for 1927, by the Bank of Harnett. (See Resolution and Order oopied herein). It is ordered that an invitation be extended Eduard A. Terry, Assistant of the Researeh Dept. of University of North Carolina, to male survey of the records of Harnett County. It is ordered that reeeipts for taxes en 113 acres of land known as Gregory land listed in name of C.W. Thornton for the year 1923, 1924 and 1926, be marksd satisfied and delivered to W.J. Godwin who listed said lands in his name and paid same for years above stated, salt lands being in Stswart's Creek and Anderson Creek townships. That the amoant of her unpaid taxes for the year 1926 is $168.30, and the year 1927 is $166.86, making a total of $349.46. 2.
