STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, COUNTY OF HARNETT. Lillington, N.C. * *March 5, 1928. WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County passed resolutions at their regular meeting on February 6th, 1928, authorizing the borrowing of 055,000.00 for said County, in amounts of 035,000.00 and 020,000. and the Loard now desires to amend said resolutions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said resolutions be amended to read as follows, in so far as the form of resolutions and form of note is concerned: RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 5 of the County Finance Act for the purpose of paying the principal and interest of bonds or notes issued for necessary expenses and due or to become due within four months and not other- wise adequately provided for, the County of Harnett shall borrow 055,000.00 in anticipation of the receipt of the revenues of the next succeeding fiscal year and issue notes therefor, dated March 8th, 1928, and maturing June 8th, 1928, bearing interest at the rate of 40,) per annum, payable at maturity, principal and interest payable at the CHASE NATIONAL BANE, in New York, N.Y. and issued in substantially the following form: UNITED STATES OF AiMRICA STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF No REVENUE ANTICIPATION NOTE The County of , in the State of North Carolina, for value received hereby promises to pay to the bearer hereof the sum of THOUSAND DOLiARS on the day of ,19 , with interest thereon from the date hereof until paid at the rate of PER CENT per annum, payable at the maturity hereof. Both principal and interest of this note are payable in gold coin of the United States of the present standard of weight and fineness at the BANE, in the City and State of NEW YORE:. Stewart of Grove Township be relievea of 42.38 taxes on account of error in number of acres listed. It is ordered that M.H. Dudley of Black River township be relieved of 41.00 dog tax. It is ordered that John L. McNeill of Anderson Creek township be relieved of 45.65 error in acres listed, also exempt from poll tax. It is ordered that Carrie E. Stewart of Grove township be relieved of taxes on 42900.00 valuation, Name property listed by C.S. Hicks for T.V. Stewart estate. It is ordered that J.W. Jordan of Averasboro township be relieved of taxes on 46000.00 valuation timber tight listed in error. It is ordered that J.0. Partial of Black River township be relieved of $25.84,same property listed and paid in Johnston County. It is ordered that property listed by M.F. Hodges and wife of Averasboro township, recorded in Book 22, page 227, in Register of Deeds office be released from taxes for the y ar 1927 upon the payment of the sum of 461.80 which is the amount due on said property described in said Deed of Trust. RESOLUTION: "At a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, held at Lillington on the 5 day of Larch, 1928, the following members were present, the same being a quorum of said board: Messrs. Jas. A. Buchanan, chairman; L.R. Byrd, Z.V. Snipes, B.P. Ingram and J.A. Hockaday. The following resolution was offered by Mr. Ingram and seconded by Mr. Byrd: "Resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County: (1) That for properly maintaining a six months' school term in District 170, County of Harnett, as required by Article IX, Section 3, of the Consti- tution of the State of North Carolina, it is necessary that certain improveme be made therein of the following character: (here set out character of improvements as specified in application) New Colored School Building at Lillington. (2) That in order to provide said improvements it is necessary that the sum of 010,000.00 dollars be obtained by borrowing -the same, to be used by the County Board of Education of Ilarnett County for said purpose: (3) That the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County does hereby approve of and authorize the application for, and procurement of, a loan for said purpose •fron the State Literary Fund of the State of Borth Carolina, established and operated under III C.S. 5683 -5687, the same being Article 24, Chapter 136, Public Laws of 1923, and said Board does hereby authorize and direct that all necessary steps be taken to procure said loan under the terms of said statutes and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education governin the making of loans from said State Literary Fund, and the Chairman and secretary of this Board are hereby authorized, empowered and directed for and on behalf of this Board to join with the County Board of Education of County, in making the necessary applica therefor, and to take such action under this resolution and under said statut rules and regulations as may be necessary for said purpose."
