REPORTS: Oct. 4 It is ordered that report from J,P..Parker, Supt. of County Home and filed, and bills attached to the amount of $191. 87 be paid. It is ordered that report from S.B. Caviness be accepted and filed, bills attached to the amount of $649.52 be paid. It is ordered that report from C.S.C. be accepted and filed, and that attached to the amount of $252.45 be turned over to County Auditor. PAUPER ALLOWANCES: It is ordered that $15.00 per month be allowed to Eva Johnson, step daughter ef J.E. Dean, for sanatorium fund. ( Stevens to pay $15.00 per month). Clark, " " At a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County at Liilington on the 4th day of Oot. 1926, the following members were present, the rime being a quorum of said board: Messrs. James A. Buchanan, E.Y. Snipes, J.G. Layton, B.P. Ingram, J.A. Hockaday. The following resolution was offered by Mr. Snipes and seconded by Mr. Ingram: "Resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County: (1) That for properly maintaining a six months' school term in District 21, County of Harnett, es required by Article II, Sextion 3, of the Constitu- tion of the State of North Carolina, it is necessary that certain improve- ments be made therein of the following character: An eight room addition to Harnett County Training School. (2) That in order to provide said improvements it is necessary that the sum of $12060.00 dollars be obtained by borrowing the mime, to be used by the County Board of Education of Harnett County for said purpose: (3) That the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County does hereby approve of and authorise the application for, and proourement of, a loan for said purpose from the State Literary Fund of the State of North Carolina, established and operated under III C.S. 5683 -5687, the same being Article 24, Chapter 136, Publis Laws of 1923, and said Board noes hereby authorise and direct that all necessary steps be taken to procure said loan under the terms of said statutes and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education governing the making of loans from said State Literary fund, and the Chairmsnd and Secretary of this Board are hereby authorised, empowered and directed for and on behalf of this Board to join with the County Board of Education of Harnett County ih making the necessary application therefor, and to take such action under this resolution and under said statutes, rale. and regulations as may be necessary for said purpose." Whereupon the Chairman announced that the said resolution was duly and properly adopted. LOAN OF $12.000.00: STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, COUNTY OF HARNETT. The Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, North Caroline, met in regular session at the Court House in the town of Liilington, North Carolina, on the 4th nay of October, 1926, the following members being present: Jas. A. Buchanan, Chairman; B.P. Ingram; J.W. Hockaday, J.C. Layton, E.Y. Snipes, Mamie L. Sexton, HsiOfficio Clerk. RESOLVED that pursuant to an Act entitled, "An Act relating to county notes in anticipation of the collection of certain school and other taxes ", ratified December 19th, 1921. a Note of the County to the principal amount ofTWBLVE THOUSAND ($12,000.00) be issued in anticipation of the collection of taxes for the expenses of the County for which the County has lawtally levied or will levy taxes. The amount of the said note, together with any other notes issued for the same purpose during the fiscal year, will not exceed 75 per cent of the amount of the taxes levied for the said purpose for the preceding fiscal year. The said note shall be dated October 7th, 1926, and shall be payable January 7th 1927, shall bear interest at the rate of FIVE AND ONE - QUARTER 11 PER CENT (6#�t) per annum, payable at maturity, shall be in the denomination of $12,000, shall be numbered one (1), and both principal and interest shall be_payable at the CHASE NATIONAL BANS, in the City and State of New York. Said note shall be signed by the Chairman and Clerk respectively of the Board of County Commissioners, and shall be issued in substantially the tenoning form, to -wit: STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF HARNETT NOTE 1N ANTICIPATION OF TAXES. No. 02,000.00 The County of Harnett, in the State of North Caroline, for value received, hereby promisee to pay to BEARER the sum of TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS on the 7th day of January, 1987, with interest at the rate of FIVE AND ONE - QUARTER PER CENT per annum, payable at the maturity of this note, both principal and interest being payable at the CHASE NATIONAL BANS, in the CITY and State of New York.
