On Friday, April 9, 1937; at 10:00 A.M. the expiration of the recess, the Board of County Commissioners re- convened, with Chairman J.B.Ennis, and Commiaaioners'Geo.T.Noel, J.S. Barker, Angus A.Cameron and•Lonnie R.Byrd present. Also County Attorney, H.C.Strickland, was present. The Board ordered that 0.A.Green, Barbecue Township, be relieved of $2.00 tax on female dog for year 1936 because of error in listing. It is ordered that the Tax Listers andAssessors be allowed $5.00 per day and 5/ per. mile. for the use of .one car for the days.spent in_ass.essing property in each Township. Upon_motion.of Commiasionex Noel, seconded by Commissioner Byrd, the following resolution was adopted,_all Commissioners being present and voting' affirmatively: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that all real .estate be listed for purposes of taxation only in the name of the owner of record atthe close of the day as of which property is listed and assessed. And be it further resolved, that each and every person desiring to have recorded any transfer of title to real estate in Harnett County, other than by mortgage or deed of trust, shall, before presenting such instrument of conveyance to the Register of Deeds, present it to the County Tax Supervisor, or his assistants, 'so that information as to the grantor, grantee, the description showing the location with respect to the township, road and adjoining owners and acreage -may be ascertained for taxation purposes; and that in the eiente of such conveyances coming into the office of the Register of Deeds by mail, said Register of Deeds shall, before recording any such instrument, present the same to said Tax Supervisor or his assistants, to the end that the information herein set out may be obtained for the purposes mentioned. It is ordered-that-fire insurande policy of N.Y.Underwriters Ins. Co. No. 21211 for (11,000.00 on Agricultural Building knd the furniture therein, be accepted.
