09021935308,,:, September 2nd. 1935. The Bthard of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members present: '.B. Ennis, Chairman, Geo. T .Noel, F.L. Cooke, J.S. Barker and A.A. Cameron. I.R. liilliama, County Attorney was also present. It is ordered that the Chairman of this Board be authorized to execute contract with ECW- Soil Conservation Service, for soil erosion work on property belonging to to Barnett County and located in Lillington Township and just North of the Norfolk- Southern Railroad. Whereas 5 acres of land in Stewarts Creek are illegally listed in the name of Viney Covington Istate for 1928 to 1935, inclusive, it is ordered that the same be listed in the name of Nezzie Covington Smith for 1936.34.- 33- 32 -31 at a valuation of $50.00 and all taxes be settled in full for the sum of $18.70. it is ordered that sealed bids be received for Laundry Work Alinz County Home and Jail at the next regular meeting of the Board. Contract to run for one year and limited to Harnett county Laundrymen, It is ordered that petition for road in Upper Little River Township running from Will Taylorts residence to John Blue McDonald's residence be approved and forward- ed to the State Highway and Public Works Commission. It is ordered that petition for road in Anderson Creek Township running from a a poitt near Cambrg and running thence to the Old Gin House on Elliott Bridge Road be approved and forwarded to State Highway and Public Works Commission, It is ordered that petition for road in Upper Little River Township running from Wilson McDonald's residence on the Johnsonville Road to a poigl near the Old Gulley Bridge on the Worthington Road be approved and forwarded to the State Highway and Public Works Commission., It is ordered that report of Geo. L. Dannady, Tax Collector, be accepted and filet. It is ordered that Land Sales for 1934 taxes be continued for 30 days. It is ordered that S200.0G be appropriated for Workments Gompensation Insurance for the Board of Xducation for the year 1934 -35. It is ordered that the School Budget be amended to show $990.00 for Home Seonomics Teachers it Bunn in stead of $960.00 originally approved. It is ordered that $540.00 be appropriated to assist in securing County Wide Sewing Project of the WPA. It is hereby ordered that when the officers of the fair associations in the County have fully complied with the provisions of Section 4944, O.S. as amended by Chapter 371, Laws of 1935, that the said fairs be exempt from any County tax and that the exemptions apply to all exhibit shows, attractions and amusements displayed within said fair grounds if the same are approved as required by said Section 4944, C.S. It is ordered that report of Sr. A.W. Reede, County Health Officer, be accepted and filed. It is ordered that report of Edwin Harrington, Register of Deeds, be accepted and filed. It is ordered that C.A.Lucas be relieved of the payment of poll tax for the years 1934 and 1935 on account of physical disability. It is ordered that no action be taken as to the sale of timber on the County Farm at this time. It is ordered that the appointment of D.G. Campbell as Deputy Tax Collector by W.D. Harrington, Tax Collector, be approved and that he be required to furnish bond in the sum of $5000.00. It is ordered that under section 507 of the Revnue Act of 1935, that the penalty assessed against D.H. Senter in Buckhorn and Black River Townships and against D.B. Senter and M.T. Spears in Upper Little River Township and Buckhorn Townships be returned and that as the said taxes were tendered prior tothe assessment of any additional penalties that the Tax Collector be and he is hereby authorized to act the principal of the above mentioned taxes.
