It is ordered that D.G. ;Derroeh be relieved of the payment of poll tax for the year 1934 on account o2'being a disabled world War Veteran. It is ordered that S.G. Davis be granted peddler's license without charge for a period of one year from date on account of being a disabled World War Veteran. It is ordered that the report of Gdo. L. Can/lady, Tax Collector, be accepted and filed. RESOLUTION: We, the board of 4ounty dommiasionera of Harnett County in regular session reoognizing the present emergency need and velde of orop acreage information in this County, and in'reoognition of Chapter 201, Public Laws of 1921, do hereby instruot all tax listers of this county to comply with the requirements of said Act by securing a farm report from each land owner this year. It is ordered that the valuation of eight houses and lots known as the Tilgh- man property in t..e Town of 3punn listed inthe name of W.H. Brannon be reduced from 43195.00 to 41600.00 on account of error in _listing. It is ordered that the valuation of the property of Neill A. It is ordered that report of Tyr. A.W. Peede, County Health Officerw be ecceoted and filed. It is ordered that the valuation of that certain lot listed in the name of Wm. B. Thompson, Agent, on Layton Street be reduced to 42000.00 for the year 1932 and to 41500.00 for the years 1933 and 1934; It is further ordered that the lot listed in the name of Wm.' B. Thompson on R.R. Street in the Town of Dunn be reduced to 42000.00 for the Year 1932 and 41500.00 for the years 1933 and 1934. It is ordered that Neils Porter of U.L.River Township be relieved of the payment of tax on two dogs for the year 1934 as they were not 6 months of age at time of listing RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, in the suit of the County of Harnett versus ora Tilley for collection of 1927 taxes due County of Harnett on 21 acres of land in Black giver Township, the children of mora Tilley were not made parties to said suit; and whereas the time for collecting the certificate of sale for 1927 taxes has passed and Dupree and Strick- land, attoeys for the said children have stated that they will plead the statute of limitations of said-1927 tax certificate. It is therefore ordered that the Auditor of Harnett County be and he is hereby authorized to compromise all matters concerning the .taxes due on said 21 acres of band for the sum of $122.69( the Board being of the opinion the court costs effpa ed expended for suiton 1927 certificate can not be collected by law on accpunt of the, error in bringing the suit. It is ordered that the valuation of that certain lot in the town of Dunn listed in the name of Charlie Eusom, colored, be fixed at 4650.0,, for the years 1932, 1933 and 1934. Being that lot described in a certain deed of trust recorded in Book 213, at page 3. PETITION: TO HONORABLE BOARD OEF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY: The andersggned attorney for :fir. C.H. Sexton represents and shows that he, Dr. C.H. Season owned and listed for taxes for the years 1932 and 1933 and 1934 200 Gres as Dry Creek Tract of the valuation in 1932 of $5170.00 and 1933 end 1934 of 2880.00; and that a portion of the said land is the Baynes tracts: That recently January 4th 1924 kr. Sexton lost a tract of 27 acres, a portion of said Bayles land of the said 200 acres to the North Carolina Jdint Stock Land Bank of Durham, North Carolina; and that said 27 acres was lost by reason of the lapage of James Best Farm 0 265 land of 587 acres with the Bayles land and that the lapage was not known until the matter of the differences and settlement with said land Bank at which time it was definitely learned that tr. Sexton had 27 *ores of land lass than he thought he owned and 27 acres less than what he had been giving in and paying taxes on. Ind that said 27 acres is entirely timberly or out over land of the value of about $15.00 per acre in line with the tax valuation of other lands of like kind in said Nellie Creel Township. Wherefore said Dr. Sexton asks that the Board of Commissioners grant him re- lief for the loss of said 27 sores of $400.00 valuation for the years 1932 and 193 and 1934, on taxes for said years and that the said relief be credited upon the taxes for said years on the 178 acres listed in Nellie Creek'Township, the taxes on the 200 acres having been paid in full on January 4th. 1935 under protest and with the understanding at time of payment that petition would be made fir the said relief. Joint Stook Land Bank of )urham, same being due to overlapping °of said land between the James Beat Farm of 587 sores and Bayles land, and that the credit for such reduction be allowed on the taxes due on the C.H. Sexton farm of 178 acres in Nellie Creek Township, the taxes on the said 200 acres ant the James Beat 587 acres having been heretofore paid. This January 7th. 1935. Norris, liste for taxation 16 acres of land, and whereas in the same year said Nancy J. Norris who lived on the lands listed the same land and the taxes on said land was paid nu Nancy J. Norris, in the year 1929 or 1930, the said land was Bold by the County of Harnett end judgment for same was dooketed, and under the said judgment, when executed, land was purchased by the County of Harnett and deed for same made by Ji0.
