03231942394 March 16th 1942. Board of Equalization & Review Minutes of first meeting of County Board of Equalization and Review held March 16, 1942. The members of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, constituting the County Board of Equalization and Review, -met at their room in the - courthouse, .at Lillington, N.C. at 10:'00 Otclock A.M. Monday, March 16, 1942, as presdribed by law. Present: Chairman J.B.Ennis, Commissioners R.L.Pate, F.D.Jackson, A.A.Cameron, and L.R.Byrd. Tax Supervisor A.S.Freeman, was present as Clerk of said Board. The several members of the Board took and subscribed to oaths as provided by law, which oaths were ordered filed with - -the Clerk to the. Board of County Commissioners. Thereupon the Board of Equalization and. Review. was constituted, and proceeded to transact the following business: The following adjustments were allowed: v/ J.B.Moss Paul L.Strickland . Averasboro.Township, 1.lot'North iVif "son Avenue and Lillington, 1 lot Italy Hill, reduced from $340. to $150.00 Harnett Streets,_100 x 140 feet, reduced from $3,360.00 to $2,000.00 /Paul L.Strickland One lot, Harnett Street, 40 x 100 feet, - valued at 5400.00 ✓, J.F.Arnold Buekhorn Township, was allowed reduction of ':6 .50,per acre on 241 adres of land because timber was cuttoff(iin 1941.: J There being no further business , the Board took a recess until 9:30 A.M. Board of Equalization & Review The Harnett County Board of Equalization and Review met on Monday, March 23,1942 at nine thirty A.M. with all.members present; also H.C.Strickland, County Attorney; and H.S.Freeman, Clerk to the Board. The following claims were heard and aeted.upon: Atlas Johnson, Hector's Creek Township, requested a reduction on a new six room house. His request was denied. Mrs. Mamie Bradsher requested that her property on Ninth Street be reviewed. The Board placed a value of $2,400.00 on the house, and reduced the value of the lot from Y 75.00 to $250.00 because the lot was shown to be only 100 feet deep. - Request of Rawin Bain, Anderson Creek Township, for reduction in value because of timber having been cut, was denied, there having been no timber valued.
