The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday, Agg. 11, 1941
with Chairman J.B.Ennis,and Commissioners L.R.Byrd, Angus A.Cameron,
Ferd D.Jackson and R.L.Pate present. Also County Attorney H.C.Strickland and
I-nez Harrington, Clerk to the Board.
It is ordered that $900.00 be appropriated for the use of the Bookmobile
Service in the rural section of the County.
It is ordered that thesalary of Lola O'Quinn be $175.00 per month
as Delinquent Tax Collector.
It is ordered that the salary of Iva Johnson Sloan be $125.00 per month
as Assistant Delinquent Tax Colleotor.
It is ordered that the salary of Lillie Davis be $175.00 per month as
Superintendent of Welfare.
It is ordered that the salary of K.C.Matthews be $90.00 per month as
jailer.
The County Accountant presented to the members of the Board of County
Commissioners the $30,000.00 of Coats School District School House Bonds
which were stamped "paid ".
Be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County
that the following Budget for the County of Harnett covering the fiscal year
1941 -42, be and the same is hereby adopted and the tax levy for said fiscal
year is hereby accordingly appropriated:
General County 125,709.08
Old Age Assistance 55,600.00
Aid to Dependent Children 24,100.00
Bond Fund 49,613.85
School Fund:
Current Expense 70,101.04
Capital Outlay 112,766.00
Debt Service 86,906.00 269,773.04
Total County Wide Budget 524,795.97
