05311940171 May 31, 1940 The Board of Commissioners met in a Ball meeting Friday, May 31, 1940 at 2:00 O'clock P.M. Present were Chairman J.B.Ennis, and Commissioners A.A.Cameron, Ferd D.Jackson, R.L.Pate, and L.R.Byrd. Also County Attorney H.C.Strickland. It is ordered that the roof of the Courthouse and the Jail be painted. Contract for $161.25 awarded to The American Oil and Paint Company, Cleveland, Ohio, J.F.McMillan, division manager. The official bond of Merlin Cobb, Black River Township Constable, in the sum of $1,000.00 was approved, ordered recorded, and filed. Those voting for its approval were Commissioners R.L.Pate, L.R.Byrd, A.A.Cameron, and Ferd D.Jackson. Voting against: None.
