Attorney and Inez Harrington, Clerk to the Board,
The monthly report of Inez Harrington, Register of Deeds was approved and
ordered filed.
The monthly report of W D Harrington, Tax Collector w as approved and ordered
filed.
The monthly report of Howard Godwin, C S C. was approved and ordered filed.
The Board ordered that County of Harnett allow $20. per month for the relief
of Nora Jackson, colored of Dunn on account of physcial disability starting Sept
1, 1947.
The Board ordered that County of Harnett allow $20.00 per smonth for relief
of Alton B Stewart, Dunn, N, C. #3, on account of physcial disability starting
September 1, 1947.
The Board ordered that a fence be installed around the ground of County Home
at cost approximately $2421.78,erested complete.
It is ordered that of the penalities accured while three heirs of R S Jernigan
Estate were in military service, 3/4 or 8114.20 be credited on the amount to be
paid in full discharge of taxes or said property as described in the resolution
in minute Book #8, page 329.
The following road petitions were approved and ordered forwarded to the State
Highway and Public Works Rommission.
(1) Beginning at the intersection of the McDougald and McArthur ()also known
as the mail road) roads in Barbecue Twp, Harnett County, N C and running to the
McLeod Road at the residence of N G McFarland, in the same township, being approx-
imately seven tenths of one mile in length
(2) Reaching from Casper Tartts-Gin Crossing Black Rive to Clarence Carville
Residence 2 miles.
(3) Leading South eastwardly by the homes of Mrs. John Harrington, Ned McLeod
the Presbyterian Manse and others of the cross road at Mt Pisgah Church, a distance
of approximately tiro .(2) miles.
(4) Reaching from County Road to U S Hwy. #421 Wonder Town Drive N mile.
(5) South east of Coats, N C.Averasboto and Smithfield rodd near P Woods.
via G C Langdon and M E Ennis Residence a distance of 4 miles.

taxes are hereby declared to be first lien on all real property of the respective

RESOLUTION
BE IS RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Harnett,
State of North Carolina, that whereever the words "Municipal Building" appear
in that certain resolution adopted by said Board of Commissioners on August
4, 1947, appearing in Minute Book No 8, page 341, the said words "Municipal Build
be and the same are hereby deleted, and in lieu thereof the words "new Dunn Htth
School Gymnasium" be and the same are hereby inserted in saiid resolution; the
purpose of said changes being to hold the registeration and election in connectia
with the proposition to levy a special tax in Averasboro Township for the donduct
of the schools there at the said Gymnasium rather that at the Municipal Building
Dunn.
