That an election be and the same is hereby called in the Dunn School Distri of Harnett county, North Carolina, for the purpose of e nabling the qualified voters in said District to determine whether there shall be levied therein a local annual tax not to exceed fifteen cents (15f1) on the one hundred dollars (8100.00) valuation of all property, real and personal, to supplement the funds for the nine months public school term for that District, which said election shall be held and conducted at the Municipal Building in the own of Dunn, N, C, on Thrusday, June 28, 1945, between the hours of seven o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock P. M. 2. That for the purpose of conducting theregisteration of voters and said election, T. W. Lee a qualified elector of said District, be and hereby is appointed Registrar; and Empie Hall and D. J. Dowd be and they hereby are appointed as Judges of election. 3. That a new registration of voters be and the same is hereby called in Dunn School District, and that the registration books shall open 9 o'clock A. M. Sat- urday June 2, 1945, and close at sunset Saturday, June 16, 1945. Voters otherwise qualified and who have resided within North Uarolina for one year and within the boundaries of Lunn School District for four months are entitles to register a nd vote. The boundaries of the Dunn School District are as follows: r 1 1 151 1 1 1 Beginning at the Johnson County line back of Bethesady Church; then with church property to the Neighbor's Church road; then with said road to W. M. Pleasant's line, with said line to the Nath McLamb line to the J. H. Barefoot line to the Fair Ground road crossing said road with his line to P. B. Johnson Estate line with said line to Black River; thence crossing Black River with the Ray Neighbors' line and John Sorrell line to the old Smithfirld- Averasboro Road; then crossing said road with the John Sorrell Line South to Carro Sorrell Bennett line to the J. L. Hodges line to the road leading fron Turlington's cross reads to Lunn; then down said road to the W. M. Lucas line to Black itiver; thence south with the meanderings of jllack River to the Dr. C. B. Codrington line; then wesr with his line, the Bessie Jackson line, the James Tart line the Hesse Lockamy line, the David Stephenson line, the Carl Hamilton line, the Holt Hamilton line, the Hugh Prince line, to Turtle Brance, with said Branch and Bumper Creek to the Cape Fear diver; then as said River meanderz to the Cumberland County line; then with the uumberland, Sampson and Johnson "'aunty lines to the beginning J. NOTICE CF SPECIAL ELFCTION IN DUNN SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF NEW REGISTRATION Notice is hereby given that s special election has been called by the board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolins, in the Dunn school District for the purpose of enabling the qualified voters therein to determine whether there shall be levied in said District a local annual tax not to exceed fifteen cents (15') on the one hundred dollars (3100.00) valuation of all property, real and personal, to supplement to funds for the nine months public school term for that District. The election shall be held and conducted at the Muncipal Building in the Town of Dunn on Thrusday, June 28, 1945, between the hours of seven o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock ?. M. T. W. Lee has been appointed as registrar, and Empie Hall and D. J. Dowd have been appointed as judges of election. Voters otherwise qualified, and who have resided withing North Carolina for more than one year and within the boundaries of the Dunn School District for four months are entitlws to register and vote Notice is hereby further given that a new registration has been called in the Dunn School District. The above named registrar will be at his place of business on E. Broad Street in the town of Dunn for the purpose of registering voters. The registration books All be open at nine o'clock A. M. Saturday, June 2, 1945, and close at sunset, Saturday, June 15, 1945. On the following Saturdays the registrar will be at the polling place above named: June 2nd, June 9th, June 16th, to register voters, and on Saturday June 23, 1945, the registrar and fudges of election will be at the polling pla ce for the purpose of hearing challenges from nine o'clock A. M. to three o'clock P. M. The boundaries of the Dunn School District are stated below: Beginning at the Johnson County line back of i?etheady Church; then with Church property to the Neighbor's Church road; then with church property to the Neighbor's Chruch road: then with said to W. It was called to their attention of members that in too many instances gambling and lewd dances were permitted on occassions when such carnivals were showing in Harnett County. It is ordered that the sum of #327.05 re ?resenting levy of 4¢ for building and grounds of $9,589.45 paid to the County for its 1944 taxes by Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company, be regunded to it on account of over paymentlof taxes law- fully levied. It is ordered that, upon payment to the County of $94.40 during the month of April, 1945, taxes charged to Z. 0. Parker Estate, Stewart's Creek Township, beteasec to the partied who may make payment of said sum.
