05071945May 7, 1945 The board of Commissioner met in regular session on Monday, May 7, 1945 with all members presentwiththe exception of J. b. Ennis, Chairman who was absent on account of illness. Vc9 Chairman Angus A. Cameron presided over the meeting. Also present was the County Atorney` and Clerk to the Board. The report of Inez Harrington, for ehe lmonth of.-Apritowad approvdd_andfotddred filed. The report of W. L. Harrington, Tax Collector was approved and ordered filed. The report of Howard Godwin, C. 6. C. was approved and ordered filed. Be it resolved that that property acquired by Harnett County and the town of Dumn at a tax foreclosure sale under judge 4247 -252 -A -1244 and described as follwws: One lot containing 1125 sq. yds. lying On the South Side of Broad St. if extended, joining the lands of Ransom Smith and Eddie Smith be sold to Connie D. Smith and Lela C. Smith for the total sum of $125. on the following terms: $50.00 cash and not less than $5.00 per month until the entire balance of $75.00 and interest is paid. The first payment due May 15, 1945. The Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed and the Clerk to the Board will attest same. The following road petitions were presented, approved and ordered forwarded to the State Highway and Public Works Commission. (1) Begins at Turner Gardners North West corner on the east side of highway i5A and runs in a southeasterly direction 1.15 miles to Hilliardas corner in the road running from Rawls Baptist Church to Angier, N.C. This road has been used as a part of rural route No. 1 from Fuquay Springs, N. C. for more than 30 years. (2) To maintain that certain road in Neillts Creek Township beginning at a point on the Coats Road at the home of J. B. Keith and Ernest Brown and runs south by the homes of Lloyd Johnson, Walter Johnson, and Leslie Weaver a distance of approximately (6) six tenths miles. (3) To rebuild that dirt road known as the Gainey Bridge Road which Begins at a point :_ on U. S. Highway No. 301, about two miles, South of the Town of Dunn, and runs in a Western direction across Gainey's Bridge; thence in a Southern direction to the Hemmingway Road, and thence in a Western direction along the Hemmingway Road to N. C. Highway No. 82; a total distance of said road being about five miles. C. R. Ammons appeardd before the Board of Commissioners and presented the budget for the Harnett County Agricultural Extension Service for the fiscal year 1945 -1946. D. Jones in Averasboro Township, and receipts for taxes for the years 1937 and 1938, charged to Mrs. Mae Guy on property in Averasboro Township, be released to the taxpayers; and the County attorney is directed to take a non -suit in the pending suit (S.
