The Board of Commissioners. of Harnett County met in regular session on Monday
December 6 at ten o'clock, with J..B.Ennis, Chmn., L R Byrd,B.L.Pate,Ferd D.Jackson,
and Angus A.Cane ron_present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk.
A report of Inez Harrington,Register of Deeds for the month of December was
::approved and ordered tiled.
A-report of W .D.Harrington,Tax_Collector_for the month. of December was approved
and ordered filed. .
A report of Howard Godwin,Clerk Superior Court was approved and ordered filed.
It- .is ordered that the County allow the amount of. $40. to Deputy C.H.Avery
for patroling the highway at the school in the town of..Erwin. .
The board appointed Wade Stewart as Constable in Neill's Creek Township for
a period of one year.
The Board appointed E.C.Byrd, as Supt. of County Home for eaters: of One year.
The Board appointed H.S.Freeman as Auditor for term of 1_year.
- It is ordered that the County offices be closed from Thursday Deoember 23
at noon until Monday December 27th for the Christmas Holidays.

It is ordered that upon receipt by the County of the sum of Fifty ($50.)
Dollars, the County Attorney shall take a non -suit in the pending case Wherein
the County is plaintiff and Mrs.Jennie Florence Byrd, et als., are defendants,
it being numbered S.D. 1896; and upon receipt of said sum the Tax Collector is
authorized and directed to deliver to Mrs.Jennie Florence Byrd receipts for taxes
for the years 1927, 1928, 1929, 1933; 1934, 1935, 1938, and 1943.

Mark McLean,having signed a contract to purchase from the county its
interest in_40 acres of land in Anderson Creek Township, formerly listed to
Culp McLean and haling in writing drected deed to be made to W.H.Parrish or order,
and to W.H.Parrish having this day directed in writing that deed be made to Elsie
B.Crowder.:
It id ordered that upon receipt by the County of the sale price stated in said
Contract, the Chairman shall execute a deed in the name of the County to Elsie B.
Crowder conveying the interest of the County of Harnett in 40 acres of land in
Anderson Creek Township,Harnett County,iNorth Carolina, dewdribed in Judgmsait No.
A -1184 and the Clerk will attest same and affix the corporate seal.
