1231195192 DECEMBER 31st. 1951 The Board of County Commissioners met in a call msession on Monday December, 31, 1951, at 2 :00 P. M. with L. A. Tart, Chairman, B. P. Ingram, Worth Lee Byrd and .H. S. Holloway the appointed commissioner, who will fill the unexpired term of C. G. Fields resigned, were present, R. L. Pate was absent on account of illness, Upon motion of Commissioner B. P. Ingram, seconded by Commissioner Worth Lee Byrd the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: Whereas, Honorable Robert B. Morgan, Clerk of the Superior Court of Harnett County has been granted a leave of absence by this Board to enter the United States Naval Services and Mrs. Elizabeth F. Matt ews, has been appointed as Clerk of the Superior Court of Harnett County to serve during the absence of Mr. Morgan, effect- ive January 1, 1952; And, Whereas, Thurman C. Ennis, C. P. A. was heretofore requested by this Board to make a full and complete audit of the records of accounts in the office of the Clerk of The Superior Court from July 1, 1951 to and including December 31, 1951; And, WHEREAS, the said Thurman C. Ennis, O.P. A. has made such audit and has this day filed his !!'Report of Audit ", with this Board, which report shows that the acc- ounts of said orrice, and the records pertaining thereto, are in due and proper form and regular in every respect, and that all receipts and disbursements of said office from July 1, 1951, through December 31, 1951, have been properly accounted for; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the said Robert B. Morgan and the Surety on his bond be released and discharged from liability thereto; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, and it is hereby ordered that the records and account of said office be transferred to Honorable Elizabeth F. Matthews, Clerk of the Superior Court of Harnett County, and it is further ordered that all funds belong- ing to the office of the Clerk of the 'superior Court of Harnett County, whether on deposit or not, be transferred forthwith to the account of Elizabeth F. The parties hereto mutually agree that the Surety may cancel this bond by giveing thirty (30) days notice in writing to the Obligee. Such cancellation shall be effective only as to acts committed by the principal after the expiration of said thirty (30) day period. The Surety shall, upon surrender of this bond and its bed 93 release from all liability.thereunder, refund the premium paid, less a pro rata part, thereof, for the time this bond shall have been in force. THOMAS DEPUTY CLERK OF THE SUPERIOR COURT OF HARNETT COUNTY EX PARTE This cause coming on to be heard before th undersigned upon the appointment of a Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court of Ha m ett County, and it appearing that the proper discharge of the duties of the office of Clerk of the superior Court renders the apoointmentof a Deputy Clerk a public necessity for the common good; and it further appearing after due inquiry and consideration that Frances M. Thomas is a discreet and competent peon to discharge the duties of the office of Deputy Clerk and is a fit and proper person to occuapy said office; Now, Therefore,in obedience to public necessity and in compliance with the laws of the state of North Carolina as set forth in Section 935 and 936 of the Consolidated Statutes of North Carolina and the general laws of the State, and in exercise of the authority vested in me by law, I do hereby appoint, constitute and commission the said Frances M.
