11061961535 NOVEMBER 6th. 1961 The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, November 6th. at 10:00 A M. with all members present. Also present were theCounty Attorney, the Clerk to the Board and the County Auditor. The Following Reports Were Approved And Filed: Inez Harrington D P Ray Elizabeth F. Matthews Kyle Harrington L. B. McLean Ray Thomas and Ken Black Roy Godwin and B H Sellers W. H. Stewart Register of Deeds Tax Collector Cbrk Superior Court Clerk Recorders Court Veterans Service Officer Dog Wardens Electrical Inspectors Sheriff The Following Resolution was Tentatively Approved: NORTH CAROLINA HA3IETT COUNTY WHEREAS, Dunn Livestock, Incorporated, Dunn, North Carolina, is a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina, with its principal office at Dunn, North Carolina; AND WHEREAS, it appears that said corporation has as its purpose the promoting of community agriculture and industrial development in the Harnett County Area, and is a corporation which is entitled to approval under Chapter 78, Section 4, Sub - section 13 of the General Statutes of North Carolina entitled, "Securities Law ", NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, that Dunn Livestock, incorporated, be and the same is hereby approved as being a corporation which will promote community agriculture and industrial development in the Harnett County Area. This the 6th. day of November, 1961, Harnett County Board of Commissioners L. A. Tart Chairman Inez Harrington Secretary Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that William Thomas Allen be and he is hereby appointed Tax Supervisor for Harre tt County, beginning December 1, 1961, and that he be paid the sum of $362.75 for the month of Dec- ember and beginning January 1st. 1962, he Is to receive the regular salary of the now present Tax Supervisor. The term to be the unexpired term of Berles Johnson ending June 30,'.1962. Motion carried. The Board ordered the County Offices closed on November 23rd., Thanksgiving Day. The Harnett County Board of Commissioners ordered that the accumulated taxes on a building in Upper Little River Township charged as Stephenson's Garage be released for the years 1960 and 1961. The above memtioned building has fallen in and is of no tax value. See Releases # 210 and 211 By order of Board of County Commissioners November 6, 1961. The Following Road Petitions Were Approved: (1) To black top that road in Upper Little River Township known as Blanche Johnson road a distance of 9/10 miles (Petition given to Blanche Johnson and Mrs. Graham Harrington) (2) To add to State Highway System and to improve that road or street in Twin Lake, Section A and section B a distance of 2 -7/10 miles. (3) To add to State System that road or street in town of Butes Creek known as Hatcher Street a distance of 1 /10 miles. OPetition mailed) (4) To improve that road in Anderson Creek Township known as Road # 1120 a distance of 3 miles.
