The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, June 6th., with
all members present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to the
Board.

Commissioner Cameron moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that the Harnett
County Auditor accept prepayment from Marvin L. Hight the 1960 personal property
taxes and also i of 1960 real estate taxes on his home in Averasboro Twp. valued
at $5600.00, estimate rate same as 1959.
Motion carried.
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren; that the sum of
$1440.00 be set up in County Agents budget as the countys part for an additional
farm agent in Harnett County to begin his duties July 1, 1960.

The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Byrd:
Whereas Woodrow Wilson Groves formerly owned a lot in Averasboro Township.
and
Whereas said lot was foreclosed for taxes in SD # 2729 -A- 1787 and
Whereas Myrtle Bell, his sister, has tendered to Harnett County the sut of
$166.77 which is the full :amount of the taxes owed plus all cost of foreclosure
through the year 1959; and to list same and pay the 1960 taxes.
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of Commissioners of Harnett
County authorize the County Attorney to draw a deed to the said Myrtle Bell upon
payment of said S166.77 to Harnett County and upon listing the same and paying the
1960 taxes, authorized the Chairman of said Board to sign said deed in the name of
Harnett County and the Clerk to attest same and affix the seal of Harnett County
thereto.
Seconded by Commissioner Warren and duly passed.
Commissioner Byrd moved seconded. by Commissioner Cameron that D. P. Ray, Jr.
be and he is hereby appointed Tax Collector. for Harnett County for the year
1960 -61
Motion carried.
A motion made and duly seconded was that Carson A. Hall, Dunn, N. C.
be and he is hereby appointed Rural Policeman for Harnett County to begin
his duties on July 1, 1960.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN
TO APPOINT A REPRESENTATIVE OF 'Tn1S
COUNTY AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE
EASTERN CAROLINA REGIONAL HOUSING
AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, THE term of office of Mack M. Jernigan, who has been representing
Harnett County on the Board of Commissioners of the Eastern Carolina Regional
Housing Authority expire 6/30/60/
Commissioner Cameron introduced the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
That the Chairman of this Board is hereby authorized and directed to appoint
a representative of this County to the Board of Commissioners of the Eastern
Carolina Regional Housing Authority for a term of five years beginning 7/1/1 °60;
and the Chairman ts hereby directed to file in the office of the Board of County
Commissioners of Harnett County the necessary certificate evidencing the appointment
of a Commissioner pursuant to the " Housing Authorities Law ", as amended, of the
State of North Carolina.
The motion to adopt said resolution was secomded by Commissioner Curran, and
upon • roll call the following Commissioners voted in favor of the Resolution:

Thereupon the Chairman declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
CERTIFICATE OF APPOINTMENT
I, Lofton A. Tart, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County,
North Carolina, do hereby appoint Mack M. Jernigan td act as representative of
Harnett County, North Carolina, upon the Board of Commissioners of the Eastern
Carolina Regional Housing Authority. The term of office to be for a period of
five years beginning July 1, 1°60.
This appointment is made pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina. on the 6th. day of June, 1060,
and the Housing Authorities Law of North Carolina as amended.

Board will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday July 5th. at 10:00 A. M.
