MARYLAND CABUALTY COMPANY BAL'i'Im0AE KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT Duncan Patterson Ray, Jr, as Principal (hereinafter called Principal) and the Maryland Casualty Company, a corporation of the State of Maryland, having its principal office in the City of Baltimore, Maryland, as Surety, (hereinafter called the Surety) are held and firmly bond unto the Harnett County Board of Commissioners Lillington, North Carolina (hereinafter called Obligee) in the penalty of Thirty Five Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($35,000,00) to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made and done. the said Principal binds himself, his heirs executors and administrators, and the said Surety binds itself, its successors and assigns. jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Motion carried./ Upon motion of Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Currin, that contract for Audit of the County Offices be given to Thurman Ennis, the cost not to exceed $1600.00. Motion carried. THE FOLLOWING ROAD PETITION WAS :APPROVED To Grade and maintain that road in Barbecue Township which is 1.6 miles (Petition given to W. H. Parrish for presentation) Commissioner Byrd moved seconded by Commissioner Currin, that tax suits for year 1956 against Garland Walters ( S D 2866) Black River Township and Jaynes Aaron Holmes s D 2866 in Duke Township be non suited. Motion carried. 1959 Budget Resolution was presented to the Board -of Commissioners and accepted on tentative basis. A copy is on file in the Register of Deeds office. On motion of Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commfeeioner'Cgrrin, the board voted unanimously to convey to Levander and - Carrie G. Melvin it interest in the lands acquired in a tax foreclosure judgment SD 2572-A 1570 upon payment to the county the sum of $ 390.00 the same representing taxes, penalties, and court cost now due on said land and upon condition that the said Levander and Carrie G. Melvin list the said lands for taxes for the year 1959 and pay the taxes thereon. The Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute a deed to be attested by the Clerk to the Board conveying the county's interest in that lot on East Divine Street, Dunn N C.
