The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Thursday, June 9th.
at 7:30 P.M., with all members present except.Commissioner O'Quinn, who was
absent on account of illness.
Chairman Brock presided and called the meeting to order.
The following resolution by Harnett County Board of Commissioners -was
ordered placed on the Minutes of this meeting.
RESOLUTION BY HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS _
WHEREAS, the Board of Cpunty Commissioners by resolution elated June 6,
1966, recorded in Minute Book 11 page 473, created a planning Board for
Harnett County, North Carolina, which is vested with authorities and powers
granted by G. S. 153 -9 (40); and
WHEREAS, the Harnett County Planning Board, by resolution dated June 9,
1966, has determined that an official comprehensive plan for tto future
development of water and sewer systems in Harnett County, North Carolina,
should be prepared and desires to construct with a competent consultant
engineering firm for the preparation of such a plan; and
WHEREAS, neither the Harnett County Planning Board nor the Board of
County Commissioners has available funds which can be used for the cost of
the preparation of such a plan but may be able to obtain a grant of funds to be
used for this purpose from the Farmers Home Administration, an agency of the
United States Department of Agriculture.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners join.with the Harnett County
Planning Board in applying to the Farmers Home- Administration for a grant to be
used for the purpose of paying the .meat of the preparation of the plan.
2. That the Board of County Commissiones join with the Harnett County
Planning Board in entering into a grant agreement with the Farmers Home
Administration, and the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners in hereby
authorized and directed to execute such agreement for and on behalf of the
Board of County Commissioners.
3. That the Board of County Commissioners join with the Harnett County
Planning Board in a contract with a competent consultant engineering firm for
the preparation of the plan and the Chairman of the Board of County Commiss-
ioners is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract for and on
behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.
This is to certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the resolution
adopted by the Board of Commissioners on June 9, 1966.
